Helping Children Locally and Abroad
The Sandestin Foundation for Kids was founded in 2011 by the owners of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the Becnel Family. The structure of the organization allows for funds to be gifted to children and families quickly in the event of a tragedy. Sandestin Foundation for Kids goal is to provide support immediately, when it is needed most to children throughout the community and abroad.
WHO DO WE HELP?
We’ve helped numerous children and families, both locally and nationally, by helping pay emergency medical bills, therapies that insurance doesn’t cover, cancer treatments, and more. A few children we’ve assisted are…
- Premature twins born with wide range of issues including brain bleeds, bowel perforations, Cerebral Palsy, partial blindness and more.
- Little boy born with an eye condition that caused severe vision issues and developmental delays.
- Little girl born with multiple health concerns, but the most debilitating being a rare eye disorder called Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy (FEVR).
- Little boy diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant form of brain cancer.
- Little girl diagnosed with stage 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma.
- Little boy diagnosed with Ewing Like Sarcoma (ELS).
- Little girl born with a brain bleed which caused her lasting problems, one of those being impaired motor skills
- We work with organizations both locally and abroad by funding jobs and programs to increase their standard of living.
- Overland Missions Water Well Drilling Project
- Student scholarship program at Mukuni School in Nsongwe Village, Africa
- Food for Thought, serving Walton and Okaloosa counties
- Read Across Africa, based in Kenya
- Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, serving Walton and Okaloosa counties
- Sowing Seeds of Love, based in Panama
